Maisha Magic Swahili will from June 1st expand its
content offering to include more shows and movies with an appeal to the wider
East African target audience.
The Channel which currently broadcasts Swahili series and bongo
films targeted at the Tanzanian market and the East African Swahili speaking coastal
region, is poised to commence airing other shows that also appeal to both
Ugandan and Kenyan TV viewers while at the same time improving on the content
offering to the Tanzanian audience.

Channel 158 on DStv has been a key source of entertainment for its fan base in
Tanzania due to its entertaining and high quality Bongo films that feature top
popular Tanzanian artists among them Jacob Stephen, Auntie Ezekiel, Wema
Sepetu, Ray Kigosi and the late Steven Kanumba.
From June 1st,
the Channel will change its name to Maisha Magic East, a move meant to
provide viewers with compelling, quality and fresh content that appeal to
viewers in the entire East African region. Viewers can expect more entertainment value as
the best of East Africa TV will be served first-hand on Maisha Magic East.
Maisha Magic East has scheduled an array of entertaining shows
that include Bongo films, comedies, reality TV, lifestyle, Taarab music, East
African films, local and international telenovela and drama series carefully
selected and scheduled for East African viewers.
Among new shows set to air on the channel include Utandu and
Almasi. Other shows set to continue running on the channel are Mkasi Show, Mtaro , Siri ya Mtungi and Tanzanian Celebrity cookery
show
